SRFFA Mission Statement

    To take such action as necessary or appropriate to protect retirement benefits.

    To provide an organization to promote and sponsor activities for the mutual benefit of all members.

    To perform such activities as may be deemed beneficial to the organization by the officers of the Association.

    To provide such means as are necessary to finance this organization and the activities which it sponsors.

    To provide cultural and social activities for the members of the Stamford Retired Fire Fighter's Association.

    To communicate pertinent retiree information to the membership.

The SRFFA recently received a heartfelt thank you letter from the Fairfield County Trauma Response Team, Inc. (FCTRT) in recognition of our donation. FCTRT's mission is helping First Responders and the Fairfield County community heal from trauma, tragedy, and stress. Click the letter below to view it.

SRFFA Partners with EsoGuard for Esophageal Cancer Screening

The SRFFA is teaming up with EsoGuard to provide esophageal cancer screening for all members of the association. The plan is to schedule the screening on the mornings of the fall SRFFA socials in SC and CT. The attached documents explain some things about the screening. In Memoriam: Thomas J. Telesco

Thomas J Telesco, a Norwalk resident and former Darien/Stamford resident and auto repair business owner, passed away April 6th at Stamford Hospital at the age of 79. Born June 18th, 1946, Tom grew up in Stamford and attended JM Wright Technical High School, graduating with the class of 1964. Over the years Tom opened his own auto repair business, known for his expertise on classic and muscle cars and as the "Nailhead" guru. He was a longtime drag racer and will be dearly missed by family, friends, and the classic car community. Tom is survived by his brother John Telesco, his sister Nanette Telesco/Chang, and his two children Tommy Telesco Jr. and Billy Telesco.

SRFFA at Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village Dedication

On July 24th, 2026 President Tripodi and Treasurer Keatley represented the SRFFA at the dedication of the new Tunnel to Towers Foundation Veteran's Village in North Charleston, South Carolina. The Tunnels to Towers Homeless Veterans Program assists veterans and their families across the nation, no matter their location. The Tunnels to Towers Foundation is one of several charitable organizations that the SRFFA supports throughout the year.
